George Roy is a class-A PGA professional and the Owner/Director of Instruction for RoyBoy Golf at the Royal Saint Augustine Golf & Country Club located just a short drive from the historic district of Saint Augustine, FL. He has been described as one of the bright young minds in golf instruction with an energy and passion for improvement matched by few. As a PGA Golf Management graduate from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, George proudly represented his Alma mater in multiple events including the PGA's Jones Cup, the Callaway Leadership Conference, 2 Carolina Cups, and the Mason-Dixon Line Challenge.
Over the last six years, he has worked for and along side some of the most highly regarded teaching professionals in the world. His experience as an instructor started with a sophomore internship at one of the most successful facilities in golf, the Hank Haney World Headquarters in Lewisville, TX. There he laid the foundation for his career by working with hundreds of junior golfers and shadowing several great coaches including Hank himself.
The next step in George's career was in the realm of adaptive golf, where he served as an instructor for the Salute Military Golf Association for three years in Washington, DC. Under the guidance of PGA professional Jim Estes, the co-founder of SMGA and a multiple "Top-100" instructor, George taught the game to dozens of American heroes that were wounded while protecting our freedom. Using golf as a rehabilitative program for post 9-11 combat veterans was a monumental learning experience for him. Those very instances of teaching golf with adverse physical circumstances have greatly morphed George's teaching techniques and philosophy into the successful unorthodox methods he uses today for all golfers.
George has since held the position of Director of Instruction at facilities in Maryland and Florida where he has exposed 100's of golfers to a new level of personal success on the course. While George's students have competed on multiple levels, including national and international stages, his greatest professional passion is for growing the game and helping golfers experience the pure enjoyment of play and improvement. Once exposed to his energetic and "outside the box" approach, you will understand exactly what's important to him..."Creating a positive impact in golf and the world around us".
